Authntk’s Video Contest Winners Offer Advice

Two of O’Regan Automotive’s sales professionals received $500 in cash prizes after winning Authntk’s 30 day video contest.

O’Regan’s Automotive, located in Nova Scotia, and Authntk Walkaround Videos teamed up to create a customized video contest that awarded $500 in cash prizes. The contest was one month long with two possible winners: Best Walkaround Video and Most Video Sent.

Eric Albert, Product Advisor at O’Regan’s Dartmouth Hyundai won Best Walkaround Video.

 

Not only did Eric’s winning video snag him some extra cash, but he also sold the vehicle.

Eric says his intention in sending videos is not to sell the vehicle, but to sell himself. He offers a low-pressure, authentic experience while catering to consumers who may not want to come to the dealership – both strategies are popular trends with millennials and up-and-coming auto consumers.

“When I send videos to customers I try not to push them. I like showing them the vehicle versus trying to sell it to them. Video is a good tool, especially now with Covid-19, not everyone likes to come to the dealership, and with video I’m still able to show vehicles to people.”

Eric’s advice for auto professionals using video is to be practical and efficient.

“Some people don’t use headphones while recording videos and there ends up being a lot of wind and noise, that’s one huge thing I would recommend, headphones. Also, make sure the video is recorded in landscape mode and use Authntk’s Pause/Resume While Recording feature, that way you don’t have to show or spend time on parts you don’t need in the video.”

Eric is a graduate of Georgian College where he studied Business, this is his first year in automotive sales.

Ashley’s process is to not only send videos to leads he receives from his BDC department, but he also sends a video to anyone who visits the showroom.

“Any leads I receive from BDC I’ll send a video via email and text before I really even start communication with them, it gets them excited for what we’re about to talk about. If I have someone come in and look at a car and we don’t put a deal together on the spot, I’ll send a video to keep the vehicle in their mind and keep them excited about the experience they just had. Video is a great tool to keep customers excited and engaged.”

Ashley’s advice for others using video in the auto industry is to not get too overwhelmed, and keep it simple, “embrace the tool, stay on track, and touch on the most important features. Then have fun with it!”

Ashley has been in the auto industry for four years, and has qualified as one of O’Regan’s top sales staff every year.
